On December 21, Asia Nora closed her doors for the last time. It was the end of a wonderful run - and a sad day for us all. Asia Nora opened in 1996, offering organic fusion cuisine. It was the perfect combination with Nora's style of cooking - light, elegant dishes, prepared in a healthful way with exciting flavors from across Asia. Asia Nora grew in popularity over the years, with both West End locals and visitors to DC alike. It hosted many parties and dinners for TV and film celebrities, politicians and city movers and shakers, but also drew loyal regulars who became great friends. The good news is that Asia Nora is being replaced with another organic venture as the building has been sold to make way for redevelopment of the block and a new "green" hotel. Restaurant Nora, now in its 29th year lives on, but for Asia Nora we bid the West End a fond farewell. Nora Pouillon |
